hello and welcome to HCM
This is the ultrasound report of pelvic region. It shows the uterus in its normal anteverted position. Normally uteus is slightly bent forwad making an angle with the cervix and also with the vagina. This is called anteversion and antiflexion. Its the normal position.
The uterus has three layers- endometrium, myometrium and parametrium.
Endometrium is the thin lining which is hormone responsive. The thickness of the endometrium increas during first half of the menstrual cycle. During second half the thickness remains the same and secretory change supervenes. Then in the absence of fertilization, the endometrium is shed.
After shedding the cycle then repeats itself. Your report says that the endometrium is thin. This finding indicates that the ultrasound is done during the initial phase of the menstrual cycle.
Polycystic ovaries refers to presence of large number of cysts in the ovary.
Normally, a number of follicles are formed in the ovary in an ovarian cycle. One of these follicles matures and is released durind ovulation. The presence of a large number of follicles is called polycystic ovaries.
Thanks and take care
