Ultrasound Shows Enlarged Left Ovary. Cyst Has Solid Component, Demonstrate Arterial Waveform. What Does It Mean?
Hello. I recently had an us and this are the findings. Left ovary measures 5.8 cm x 3.7 cm x 6.5 cm. left ovary is enlarged and has a 4.1 cm mass. This mass is predominant cystic with a 1.3 cm thick mural solid component. The solid component has no color doppler flow. Both ovaries demonstrate an arterial waveform. What does this mean?

Ultrasonography shows left overy has enlarged in size significantly. There is a mass with solid(mural nodule) and cystic componant, which has differentials of benign as well as malignant lesion. As there is no vascularity of solid part(no color doppler flow) it is less likely malignant. however it will depends on your age, marital status, child issue etc. Aterial waveform is normal in both ovaries.
It will better if you go for further imaging, MRI pelvis, after your gynecologist opinion.
