Ultrasound Shows Goiter. Blood Test Normal. Cough, Clear Mucus, Insomnia, Excessive Energy. Related Symptoms?
I was given a thyroid ultrasound three years ago because I was not feeling well and the doctor wanted to rule out a thyroid problem. I was told at that time I had nodules on my thyroid but because my blood tests appeared normal the tests would be repeated periodically unless new symptoms appeared . I did continue to have swallow issues when eating raw vegetables , meats , breads and also horrible insomnia . In April the ultrasound was repeated , however , the results were just given to me . I was told I have a goiter but because my blood tests were still normal nothing would be done . In August I developed a cough which has gotten so bad I sometime experience a bronchial spasm . This cough also produces a clear mucus .My insomnia continues yet I have endless energy though my body sometimes is exhausted . I am 65 years old and all my doctor is doing is prescribing antibiotics for the cough . Are any of these symptoms related or am I just going crazy ?
Dear Ma'm! Hi! as your blood reports are suggestive of normal thyroid functions, there is nothing that can be attributed to thyroid. cough and mucus can be allergic or viral. Regards!
