Inability to swollow is due to throat infection or pharyngitis. Levocetrizine is non sedative antihistamie useful in allergic pharyngitis & can result in dryness of throat. Ambroxol is a mucolytic& not an antibiotic. You need an antibiotic to treat the infection. Both Augmentin & Clavum belong to the same group. Both are combination of AMOXYCILLIN & CLAVULANIC ACID. Amoxycillin is an antibiotic specifically used in upper respiratory tract infection like yours effective against many Gram positive bacteria responsible for throat infection. But many bacteria can produce enzymes (beta lactamases) that destroys Amoxycillin reducing its efficacy (benefit). Clavulanic acid is called "suicide inhibitor" as it destroys these enzymes and increases the activity of Amoxycillin. Take Clavum- 625 (Amoxycillin 500mg & Clavulanic acid 125mg) two times a day for 5 days for better relief. Also take freequent sips of warm water to prevent dryness of throat.
