Undergoing In Vitro Fertilisation Treatment. Prescribed With Duphaston For 10 Days. Anxious About The Medicine?
Hi- am a 42 yr old on IVF treatment. My doctor prescribed duphaston for 10 days from the 16 to the 26 om my cycle. 2 days now and i dont see any sign of my periods. My worry is the dr gave me this medicine as a 'pre-treatment course -before even getting my blod results. Anxiety is setting in- my cycle could be messed up by this drug, it could mean no ovulation this month- a dead cycle! at 42 am racing with time!! what the hell does this drug do?
A hormone called progesterone is the main hormone that supports pregnancy, without adequate amounts of which a pregnancy will almost certainly result in a miscarriage (even if conception takes place).
The duphaston is this ver hormone, so this will help in supporting a woman and improve her chances for pregnancy and also support the pregnancy itself.
Hope this is clear.
Take care.
