The urine analysis reports an infection in more than one way. But the culture and sensitivity (urine C and S) report does not show any growth of the infection-causing organism.
This could be due to either of the following reasons: 1. As soon as the urine routine report was seen, you were started on antibiotics, which were effective enough to help kill the infection causing organism, after which you gave your urine culture and sensitivity sample for examination. By that time the infection was already treated.
2. Either the urine routine or urine c & s have reported a false positive or false negative report.
In such a scenario, clinical symptoms will have to be noted. Do you have any of the following symptoms: -Burning sensation while urinating -Frequent urination -Increased urge to urinate, but less amount of urine passed -Chills -Fever -Lower abdominal and/or flank region pain -Itching around the genitals -Blood in urine or immediately after (not always seen)
If you do, then the urine C & S has not been properly conducted, or the urine sample provided did not have a good concentration of the infection-causing organism. If so, then you will have to repeat the investigation, preferably with an early morning urine sample, and initiate treatment for your infection at the earliest.
But, if you do not have any symptoms, then the urine routine has reported a false-positive report, which can occur by hospital contamination of the sample. In which case, you need not worry at all.
