Use Of Miprogen And Is It Safe?
im 26 years old and i got married on nov 2013, igot my last periods on 1st jan , after that i dosn't got my periods, before one week i cheaked urin test , and i got negative answer.
and before one week i consult a doctor for clarification, she adviced me to take miprogen tablet, what's the use of it ?
can i take the medicine ? please tell me ,

Hi and welcome to HCM. Miprogen tablets contains progesterone,
they will be useful in cases of proven progesterone deficiency cases only,
they can help in implantation of fertilized ovum but it is not true that just by using these tablets pregnancy will occur. Usually these will be prescribed from 15th day to 25th day etc to fulfill the needs of progesterone in the second half of the cycle, in the absence of pregnancy after stopping pills you will get withdrawal bleeding. She might have prescribed you because you are trying to conceive or also to regularize your menses.
Miprogen comes under category X drug in pregnancy means animal studies shown some possible defects in babies though human studies didn't prove,
better to stop after confirmation of pregnancy unless clearly indicated.
