There are both clinical and paraclinical parameters that are used to ensure whether the
pregnancy has been cleared or not. These include disappearance of sympathetic signs of pregnancy like
nausea,
vomiting, breast tenderness and excessive urination, disappearance of lower
abdominal pain, stopping of bleeding.
To be very sure if the uterus is free, these signs somewhat persist, it might be worthwhile to do an
ultrasound which shall give an idea about the contents of the uterus (womb), whether fetal material is still present there or not. If present, your obstetrician would advocate for vacuum extraction.
Generally, when medical abortificients are well used as in your case within the first 6 to 7 weeks of pregnancy, they are generally successful.
