Vomiting Black Substance During Late Stage Of Ovarian Cancer. Any Possibility Of Internal Bleeding?

I am a caregiver for a friend on a part time basis, and she is in very late stage ovarian cancer. She is beginning to vomit a black substance. Her belly tumor is very large now, perhaps 10-12 inches in size and she is under care of hospice. She had constant morphine drip and other bolus treatment for pain. Why the black substance in her vomitus? Is there possible internal bleeding now?

Hi, welcome to the forum. With this presentation, it could be possible that she is having internal bleeding. The black substance in her vomitus could be blood that has mixed with stomach content but to be sure of internal bleeding you need to check her stool if it is black-tarry and malodorous. If her stool is as such then she is having internal bleeding.
I hope I have answered your query
I wish her good health
