Weak, Eats And Vomit, Dizzy, Lost Weight. What Should I Do?
I am very weak.Every little thing that i try to eat,i just vomit.I can't remember the last time i had a nice home cooked meal.I feel very dizzy from not eating anything.I try to force to eat something but can't even eat a small portion.I can't even concentrate while at work.I lost a lot of weight as well. What do you recommend i should do Doctor, please help,i feel like i'm dying.
If the episodes of vomiting have been occurring over a short period then it is likely to be viral illness though infection with some bacteria can cause gastroenteritis.
The main aspect of treatment of infective gastroenteritis is rehydration therapy. It is very important to prevent dehydration. Do not concentrate on eating solid food , the main emphasis should be on the use of fluids. It is best to use oral rehydration fluids which would contain the electrolytes that you need replaced.
You should use small amounts of fluids initially, if these are tolerated then the amount that you use can be increased. Start with one tablespoon every few minutes, increase if no vomiting occurs.
After you have tolerated the oral fluids for at least a few hours then you can move on to dry foods.
If this has been going on for a prolonged period then further investigations may be necessary.
I hope this helps
