Weakness In Legs, Tingling, Numbness In Left Feet. Lumbar MRI Showed Disc Protrusion. Should I Seek Advice From Neurosurgeon?
Have had weakness in legs, tingling in left foot since June.... also occasionally left hand goes numb... I've had cervical MRI that came back normal except for aging, some stenosis... however, just had a lumbar MRI and it showed left posterior disc protrusion contributing to indentation on the ventral thecal sac. Compound nerve root on the left at L5-S1 Left posterior protusion with tendency for caudal migration....should I seek advice from neurosurgeon?

Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist, Augustine Joseph's Response
Hi! Well dont go by seeing the MRI. Always corelate clinically too. Please show to a Neurologist and then show it to a qualified experienced Physiotherapist. Surgery may be advised only if conservative management fails. Hope you understand. Physio would make you do some ex's and watch for the symptoms if its centralizing or radiating. Based on that a protocol would be planned.
