Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Sprintec contains norgestimate and ethinyl estradiol , which is a combination of the female hormones estrogen and progesterone. It is used as contraceptive pill to prevent pregnancy. Sprintec is a 28-day regimen of tablets, with 21 days of active (containing hormones) tablets, and 7 days of inert tablets. Common side effects of Sprintec include: 1. nausea (especially when you first start taking Sprintec) and vomiting 2. headache 3. stomach cramping/bloating 4. changes in weight (weight gain) or appetite 5. dizziness 6. vaginal discomfort/irritation/itching, increased vaginal discharge 7. breast tenderness/enlargement, nipple discharge, 8. increased hair growth, loss of scalp hair, 9. decreased sex drive 9libido) 10. Bleeding between menstrual periods (spotting) or missed/irregular periods may occur, especially during the first few months of use of Sprintec.
