What Are The Black Spots On My Father's Legs?

My father is 54 yrs old and we just started to notice that he has several large black spots througout his legs on his varicose veins. The spots are tender, however, most of the black spots are not raised anymore like his varicose veins normaly are. In the sections where the black spots are now, the vein is not raised but almost flat again. Can you tell me if he should seek medical attention. He is refusing to see the dr. He has never had good experiences with dr.'s and I am afraid something may be really wrong.

Hi,Dear,Thanks for your query to HCM.
Dear I read facts of your query and reviewed it in context to your health issues submitted in your query.
I understood your health concerns and feel Concerned about them.

Based on the facts of your query the reply of your query is-
Your current health issues seem to be due to -Petechial hemorrhages from ruptured engorged Varicose Veins in subcutaneous area. These are located around the perforator / communicating veins. It indicates the DVT in deep leg Veins. This is caused from the stagnant venous blood in deep veins due to incompetent Vein valves in long and short saphenous system.
Therefore he needs to be attended urgently to avoid further complications.

Therefore Cause of these complaints -like above discussed needs to be ruled out.
Other causes-like discussed above , need to be verified. For this you need to consult attending Vascular Surgeon and Physician.

Do's Suggested-
Consult and physically examine from Vascular Surgeon and Physician.
They would Do needful Investigations-like USG and Color Dopler of the leg veins.
USG/CT Abdomen study with above would fix the exact cause.
Rest / Elevation of the legs
Venostock treatment
Avoid long standing work sessions.
Cap Daflon 1 x 3 times a day x 3-6 weeks.
Tb Warfarrin -treatment with control on INR at 2.5 times normal to prevent progress of the venous clot and embolism.
Plan EVLT with foam sclerotherapy soon to avoid recurrence.
Thus You should consult Vascular Surgeon and Physician.
This would resolve the complaints of your's.

Constant follow-up with local Vascular Surgeon and Physician for long term would give you long remissions of such complaints in time to come, which would depend on meticulous follow-up treatment of your health concerns.

Just don't worry and be patient and co-operate with your doctors, till you verify with your attending doctors.
For early recovery-please follow above do's which would resolve your complex health issues.

Hope this would help you to treat your health issues in the best way possible.
