What Are The Chances Of Getting Clomephine For Dysfunctional Uterine Bleeding?
• Hi I am 45 years old. In May 2010 I had a scan which revealed that I have very small fibroids although was not told about whether they are in or on the outside of the uterus. My periods have been irregular recently and in the past couple of months or so have been more frequent. Nearly 2 weeks ago I started a period which was extremely heavy with lots of clots and it would not stop. There has been no pain with the bleeding. I know my chances are slim but I am hoping there is a chance of becoming pregnant. I discussed all this to my GP and all that happened was that I was prescribed progesterone to stop the bleeding and I had blood taken to check for anaemia. Since then I have looked up various websites and have seen that my bleeding is described as “dysfunctional uterine bleeding”. I understand that this type of bleeding means that no egg has been released and that woman with this who wish to conceive may be given clomephine. Do you think I am likely to be prescribed clomephine? I have one child age 6. Thank you.
