What Are The Possible Treatments For Type I Diabetics ?

I am a Type I Diabetic and have excessive swelling in my legs and ankles. The past several months I've experienced multiple non-healing ulcers on both legs. I wear graduated compression stockings and my legs weep fluid to the point of saturating them. They also itch and feel as though ants are crawling on them. Have also noticed while bathing that there appears to be an excessive amount of dry/dead flakey skin. Sometimes it just rolls off in a wad. These issues started and have continued after spending twelve hours on the floor pinned between my power wheelchair and a glider rocking chair. I was unable to move my left leg at all and had very limited mobility of the right leg.
Please forgive my rambling, but feel there may be a connection between these episodes. Have tried any number of lotions, creams and antiseptics. The only thing that gives any relief is a 2% Benadryl Gel and that is only some of the itching. The ulcers do not seem to be healing and the skin breakdown seems to be getting worse. Attended a 'wound clinic' for a couple of months. The places I had semi-cleared up and I was discharged, but the originals plus more have returned. At that time I was Not experiencing this awful itching. Any advice will be welcome. Thank you.
Regards,
Pat

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
It appears that you have some problem other than the diabetis. Infection, neuritis, anemia, or all of them and some other diseases like tuberculosis, etc.
I usually advise to my patient with such symprtoms to get the sugar tested every 3 days, and change the dose accordingly. To get the culture and sensitivity done and treat the infection according to that report.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms neurotropic injections for 10 consecutive days. Levocitrizine and montelekost can be tried to controle the oozing.
Take more of green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts, and
protein rich foods to hasten the recovery.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
