What Are The Precautions To Be Taken In Hypothyroidism For A Long Flight?

Hi, I will be flying to New Zealand from South Africa at the end of October. I have hypothyroidism and have just had to adjust my dosage of eltroxin. Are there any precautions that I should be aware of before and during the flight? Thanking you , Susan

Hello
Thanks for writing in HCM
I had gone through your query and understood your concerns.
There is no problem in flying if you are hypothyroid just take your daily dose.
In flight high altitude can cause Eustachian tube block for which i suggest valsalva maneuver or chewing chew gum continously especially while ascent and decent of plane
Hope this guides you. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
If you do not have any clarifications, you can please close the discussion. Thank you.
