What Are The Reasons For Having Fatigue, Weight Loss, Nausea, Vomiting, Weakness In Legs And Feet And Low Levels Of Potassium?
Hello, i have a friend who has been dealing with extreme fatigue, weight loss, nausea and vomiting, tingling, pain and weakness in her legs and feet. she also has been having low levels of potassium? she is in her late 20, an alcoholic and smokes. what are possible causes for these symptoms? Thank you
Low level of potassium appears due to its loss with vomiting and diarrhea. The most common reason of such symptoms is gastrointestinal infection, however the symptoms usually are present for few days. If it lasts longer, some other reasons like inflammatory bowels diseases should be considered. Alcohol intake can also cause such symptoms especially in large dosages. For sure your friend should visit a doctor and have proper diagnostics.
Hope this will help. Regards.
