hi. im about to have the mirena coil fitted for the second time. first time it came out and froced my body into labour symptoms ( even tho i wasnt pregnant). is there anything i can do to make sure this doesn't happen again? also i have severe endo and i was wondering if the coil will make it calm down.
I've gone through your query. I can understand your anxiety.
Usually following hormonal IUD insertion people might experience cramping on & off bleeding, abdominal/pelvic pain, headache etc. These symptoms will settle within 6months.
IUD at times results in complications like Increased bleeding, vaginal discharge, infections, ectopic pregnancy etc. All these presentations demands the removal of the IUD.
I advice you to do USG pelvis to location the position of IUD & also the underlying pathology if any & do CBC & TFT.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Get well soon.
Regards, Dr. Yogapriya V, General and family physician.
