What Are The Side Effects Of Crash Diet?

My fathers has been on a crash diet. he is 67 years old and bi polar. he went on a crash diet and lost 83 pounds in five months. He weighed about 300 lbs before the diet. he only consumes around 800 calories a day and NO FAT AT ALL. His Atrial fib has been severly acting up and now his cardiac enzymes are low. could this all be diet related

Crash diets don't work. They lead to various kinds of nutritional deficiencies. Which eventually leads to various health problems.

I will suggest -
Indulge in routine exercise and healthy diet regimen. Avoid fried foods, Salty foods, refined sugars. Avoid substance abuse, if any. Include more portions of fruits, vegetables and salads in diet. have plenty of water intake.

Along with caloric control, proper nutrient intake is needed. Diet and dietary supplements should make up proper percentage of carbohydrates, fats,proteins and Multi vitamin and multi minerals supplements on daily basis are needed.
