Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Heroin addict for about 2years now but oxycontin 6 years before that. Seems every time I do my heroin just before I feel withdrawal, I am now getting a few arrythmias lasting no more than a minute..I snort and do about 40 dollars a day heroin but for sure hooked big time on narcotics for 8 years... I hope these are not potentially fatal type arrythmias, no dizziness, or pain just frightening
cannot say in your particular case. The quality control of the heroin is lousy. Could contain many other drugs that affect the heart such as amphetamine. While heroin and especially NOT INJECTED heroin is not usually a cause of arrhythmia, there are some people with underlying rhythm disorders who are more susceptible (still would not expect it) and other drugs Certainly can cause heart problems.
