I have hypoglycemic unawaranes and was given Novolin 70/30 for my Basil and Novolin R for my mealtime insulin. I had a massive seasure where I dislocated my Right shoulder, broke my upper humars on my Right shoulder, and fractured my Left Scapula in several places. I needed surgery on my Right shoulder. Including my rotatorcuff, and now have 3 screws in my Right Shoulder. I am still in a lot of pain and that happened a year ago. I want to know if the insulins I was given may have caused this? I was diagnosed with Hypoglycemic unawarenes in August of 2012 and given these insulins around November 10th of 2012. My seasure was on December 8th 2012 and sergury was December 14th of that same year.
drear sir I understand your concern. in my opinion than mix 30/70 I'd not a good basal support In fact it will give more hypoglycemia.inj glargin, inj detimer are two best basal insulin.over which novo rapid is fine.just ease your tight Controll your hypoglycemic unawareness will go back to normal.in pts having epilepsy hypoglycemia should be avoided at any cost because hypoglycemia it self can trigger seizure.so kindly take diet in time ...I suggest you to use CGMS to find un diagnosed hypos.....regards
