My 74 year old mother in law has just been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer (2 tumors-one on each side) with mets to liver, lungs, and spleen. The doctors say surgery is not an option with a tumor on each side. They don t want to do radiation or chemotherapy. They want to give her a pill called xeloda twice a day (which I understand is a form of chemotherapy). Approximately how long do you think she has and will she suffer side effects with this pill?
