What Are The Suggestions For A Severe Knee Pain?

I am having major knee pain, I can no longer stand on my left legg, for it feels like the knee is popping in and out. And I have fallen several times and am currently in a wheel chair to prevent the falls. My pain manaagemt doctor feels that due to my lower back problems (herniated L4-L5 disc) may be pinching a nerve into my knee. I was told by another doctor that there isn t a nerve big enough in my knee to cause this. Currently I have to keep my knee elevated and on 5mg Vicodine every 4 hours, The knee has been x-rayed and came back normal and have also had cortisone injection to no avail. Thank you in advance,
