I have had all symptoms of DVT., bruising, swelling of the leg, excruciating pain. Last night it felt as if a tight cord was pulled behind my right leg. My doctor said he didn't think I had anything to worry about. I tend to disagree. How can I approach him again about this, or should I see another Physician. I am rather concerned and need some direction.
The prime symptom of DVT is limb swelling. If that is not there, DVT is unlikely. You can confirm it by doing a blood test for D-dimer and a Venous Doppler of your limb which is like an Ultrasound. Both these tests will confirm if you have it or not. The tight cord you feel could be a nerve pain which is usually felt in that area. Let me know if you need any further assistance. Take care, Dr Rishi, India.
