The commonest symptom of a
femoral hernia is the swelling in the femoral triangle. There may also be the possibility of a lot of pain, that may increase on straining, like on coughing, straining for stools and lifting heavy weights.
The ideal and easy way to diagnose it would be to meet a surgeon who can actually detect a hernia simply on examination. But there is the option of doing the
ultrasound too. Ofcourse the examiner should know what you are looking for, because in a resting relaxed condition, the hernia may be reduced and therefore not detected
