Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been suffering from a dull pain (which sharpens quickly upon sitting) from an area inside my anus, behind my coccyx. There is no visible bruising externally and the pain is releived slightly upon bowel movements which have become more frequent. Symptoms started 48hrs ago and only slightly improve with pain relief.I'm not sure if they may be haemmorhoids, although there is no blood in my stool and it seems too painful for internal haemmorhoids.Any help would be most appreciated.
Blood in stool is may be due to hemorrhoid. Internal hemorrhoids are not painful but external hemorrhoids are painful. Hemorrhoid may present like blood in stool, pain during defecation, anemia symptoms etcetera.
Until examination is done, it is difficult to say what it is. Avoid spicy food, alcohol, smoking and caffeine drinks. Take a soft diet and do regular exercise.
Also, possible of coccyx pain syndrome, please consult your doctor so that he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
