For the past few months within the first hour of sleep I am awakened by feeling like I am choking on my tongue. I jump out of bed thinking I am really choking until I realize it is a dream. Initially it was happening occasionally but now it is almost every night. Could this be sleep apnea?
Hi, This could be sleep apnoea. Some more symptoms are excessive daytime sleepiness , disturbed sleep , choking sensation. I will advise you to go to a sleep expert and get a sleep study done to confirm the diagnosis.
