What Are The Treatments For Coughing Up Green Phlegm, Clogged Nose, Sore Throat And Losing Voice?
Hi doctor. Well the last few days I have been coughing pretty frequently and occasionally green phlegm will come up. I've had a pretty clogged up nose and it makes it hard to sleep at night. When I do get to sleep, however, i'll wake up with this snot or phlegm in my eyes. Also, the last couple days I've started to lose my voice and my throat is just a tiny bit sore. So what does this all mean? How long will it continue? And what can I do to make it go away? Thank you so much for the advice!
Thanks for query on HCM. Green phlegm indicates bacterial lower respiratory tract infection and also involving vocal cord and upper resp.tract. You have to start proper antibiotic like amoxy/clavulinic 625 for 10 to 15 days. Take nsaid with decongestant and anti histaminic. Bronchodilator with ambroxol syrup three times a day is advisable. Steam inhalation will be helpful. Avoid oily, spicy food. Avoid cold drinks, flavored drinks. Avoid smoking if you have habit. Diagnosis can be confirmed by cbc,x-ray chest.
