What Assistance Does Gestin Have On Someone Suspected To Be Pregnant?

Hi doc,
My wife today went to see our doctor having felt most symptoms of pregnancy & she was asked to get Gestin. We have been expecting pregnancy for a year & he (doctor) has prescribed drugs all along. I am curious about d Gestin. What is Gestin used for and what assistance does it has on a lady suspected to be prego. Thank you a lot for the anticipated response

Gestin contains Allylestrenol is a synthetic progesterone which is used to prevent miscarriage and recurrent pregnancy loss.It may also be used to help prevent premature labour.
Since your wife has conceived after long time,deficiency of progesterone deficency could be responsible for delay in conception,Gestin helps in maintenance of pregnancy.
