What Can I Expect While Having Straight Umbilical Cord?
i am looking for more information on straight umbilical cord? i am 20 weeks and everything other than that was fine. wondering what to expect? my reg. ob has not called yet to go over this with me. -m
age 42 5ft weight 125. 4th child first 3 perg. no problems. last year i had a par molar pregnancy but did well hcg went down quicky waited appropriate time to get pregnant again.

I understand your concern.
Normally u7mbilical cord is coiled . Streight umbilical cord lacks the coils & along with it there are certain anomolies in child development including chromosomal anomalies/ preterm delivery/ intra uterine growth retardation/ still births are seen in such cases.
Usual advise given is to terminate such pregnancy to avoid the hazardous complications.
