What Can Cause A Gastric Problem Resulting In Messy Pants?

Within the last 2 weeks I have experienced a lot of gas. That has resulted in accidents of messy pants. I am 73 years old and have never had a problem like this. The bowels are producing an orangey mucus with or without feces. I have experienced slight dizziness, which is new to me. I have no pains in the intestinal area. I had my 10 year colonoscopy about one year ago with one small polyp. No follow up required. It s not convenient to run to the pot every time I have to release gas. WHAT S UP????

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your history of soiling the pants on passing gas for the last 2 weeks, your are 73 and never had this problem before, there is slight dizziness, bowels are producing orange mucus with or without feces, had colonoscopy and removal of a polyp 10 years back which did not need follow up.
All this history indicates that the mucus in the stool is causing the slimy thing in the ano-rectum and hence you are passing gas the mucus with or without stool leaks out easily.
I would advise you the following:
Get the stool and blood tested.
Get a course of an antibiotic and metronidazole and see the results within 5 days.
If no complete relief, get colonoscopy and CT scan done so that a proper diagnosis and proper management can be done.
I find this answer helpful
