What Can Cause Loss Of Sight For Short Moments After A Bicuspid Aortic Valve Surgery?
My brother just had surgery for a bicuspid aortic valve....he had the valve replaced , the aortic wall repaired and the root repaired. month ago.....now he says that he has lost the vision in his right eye for short periods of time......is this due to the surgery or of moe concern.....he is 48
Hello It seems from the history that you underwent a bicuspid aortic wall surgery, and you are having sudden blackouts of vision. This indicates transient ischaemic attack. The cause is decreased blood supply to brain as a result of aortic valve disease or carotid artery disease. Hence this requires evaluation to find out the underlying cause and treatment accordingly. Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.
Thank you
