What Cause Dull Pain Around Ribs With Increase In Phosphate Levels?
My husband has been having reacurring hard dull pain in his left side, around ribs and extending into back for 6 days now. He is diabetic, cannot take alieve because of nausea, is on diabetic meds including insulin, and on Lopressor and lisinopril. his phosphate level has been double what it should be for over a year now. any help would be appreciated. we do not know what route to take.
Thanks for your question on HCM. I want to ask few questions. Is the overlying skin reddened or any blister on skin of involved region? If so than it is due to herpes zoster infection. It is viral infection of skin with dermatomal involvement. And it is commonly seen in diabetics. Other possibility is muscular pain (myositis). In this due to muscle damage CPK tend to be higher side. So this is also a possibility. As a rule left sided chest pain should always be evaluated for cardiac cause. So atleast get done ECG and 2D Echo.
