What Cause Loss Of Memory After Spinal Surgery?

I had an operation in 2010 for my back the 4th and 5th vertebrae I believe, since then I have had shot term memory, and general confustion. I was evaluated by a Ph.D., ABPP Board Certified in Clinical Neuropsychology and the determination after serveral tests was that an OTC sleep aid I was taking due to my husbands snoring was causing the problem. I do not believe this since I have stopped that drug and the memory problem persists. I am becoming more depressed over this problem since I cannot live my life normally.

Everyone insists it was not the anesthesia that I was givin in 2010, but my memory problems began after that operation. I was 65 at the time and had no previous memory problems. I retired as a General Manger of two hotels consisting of 902 rooms.

If not the anethesia then what? I will be seeing an endrocinologist on Monday to check on my medications and specifically my Thyroid levels, my PCP is concerned on the dose and type of meds I should be taking.

What is the problem I should be forcusing on with the Doctor on Monday???

Thank you.

Pamela Jay

my apologies for any misspells
