What Causes A Black Colored Growth In Throat And An Earache?
I have a purple black conicle growth in the crevice at the side/ back of my tongue almost down the back of my throat. It feels scratchy when I swallow and I have had 2 lots of antibiotics cos it has had an infection that has given me earache, jaw ache and sore throat. Cd it be an infected salivary gland?
I can understand your concern. Salivary glands are not situated at the location that you have described. It seems more likely that you have tonsillitis. Tonsils are situated at the back of the tongue on the sides of the throat and infection of tonsils can give you scratchy throat along with ear and jaw pain as referred pain.
If the antibiotics are not helping you, you should go for a throat culture. It analyzes what organisms has cause the infection and what antibiotic can be effective for treatment against them. Based on the test results, medicines can be started.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.
