What Causes A Menstrual Period While On Contraceptive Pill?
i have just started using Levest 150/30 contraceptive pill its been two weeks into it taking it none stop without missing any day i had sex with my boyfriend and the day after i experience bleeding nonstop for 3 days i think i have come on my period does this mean it is not working properly?
Levest has lower dose of estrogen and progesterone with lower risk of formation of blood clots than the other combined pills. It is 99% effective in preventing unwanted pregnancy. It should be taken as instructed in the leaflet or by your health care provider. It should be taken for 21 days followed by a week without pills. During your pill-free week the levels of hormones in your blood fall and you'll usually get a withdrawal bleed that's like your period.
It is working. However, if you want you can get clinically examined by a gynecologist to rule out hormonal problem, thyroid dysfunction, PID, infection, polyp or fibroid, etc. You will have to get done a few required blood and imaging tests. Stay away from alcohol intake, smoking or recreational drugs.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
