What Causes A Mole With Raised Blood Blister On It?

Hi I have a mole that has a very black raised blood blister on it and extremely itchy. I went to the GP 3 weeks ago and it was 3mm. I went back yesterday and it is now 5mm and still really itchy. I have been referred to a dermatologist but appointment will be up to 6 weeks. Is it safe to leave it that long? I m female,44 years old and fairly dark skinned. Should I worry???

Hi,

Thanks for consulting HealthcareMagic!

Yes, you need to be concerned and should get a physical examination done by a Dermatologist as early as possible. Sudden growth and itchy feeling on a mole is serious and We need to rule out some rare serious causes like malignant melanoma.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have have any clarifications.

Wish you good health!
