What Causes Abdominal Bloating, Gas And Lower Back Pain?

Greetings:
I have abdominal bloating, gas, lower back ache and stiffness, "tugging" feelings in my lower left and right abdomen, and I feel "fluttering" in my lower left abdomen that I feel mostly at night. I also have increased saliva and have been really tired and napping for the past two weeks. Two days ago I noticed light pink spotting. Today it was a little more red and more in quantity. The spotting has gotten lighter again, but the bloated stomach and lower back stiffness remains. My period is not due until May 14. Oh - and my tubes were tied in 2000.

Some foods that increase gas include: Beans, cabbage, broccoli, raisins, lentils, prunes, apples, foods high in fructose or sorbitol, such as fruit juices. These foods can take a long time to digest, leading to the unpleasant smell associated with flatulence. If your diet doesn’t contain a large amount of carbohydrates or sugars, and you don’t swallow excessive air, your excessive flatulence may be due to a medical condition. Potential conditions underlying flatulence range from temporary conditions to digestive problems such as inflammatory bowel diseases, gastroenteritis, diabetes or peptic ulcer.
As remedies you should: Look at your diet. If it contains a large amount of carbohydrates that are difficult to digest, try to replace them. Carbohydrates that are easier to digest, such as potatoes, rice, and bananas, are good substitutes. Also try to eat around five to six small meals a day instead of three larger ones to help your digestive process.
Chew properly to avoid doing anything that may increase the amount of air that you swallow. This includes making sure that you are chewing your food properly, and avoiding chewing gum or smoking. Also, drink some peppermint tea, chamomile tea and ginger.
