What Causes Atrial Flutter Immediately After A Surgery?
My husband had a total right knee replacement exactly 1 week ago. His surgeon used a navigational device for precision placement. Immediately after surgery, my husband went into atrial flutter. Can you tell us what might have caused this? He has not demonstrated any heart problems in the past, although he does have a heart murmur. Thanks you.
Respected madam, hi I evaluated your question thoroughly. As there is past history of heart murmur he is likely candidate of any heart rhythm disturbances following any kind of anaesthesia either spinal or general. so far as surgery and navigation system per se is not going to cause atrial flutter but it is the body`s response to any procedure or anaesthesia causing conduction disorders in various forms like atrial flutter. thanks regards hope this clarifies your query. wishing your husband a fast speedy recovery.
