What Causes Bad Stomach Aches?

I have experienced bad stomach aches all of my adult life. I have bad stitch like pains which often have me slightly bent over to walk, along with having to deep breathe and even hold my breath to reduce pains. The pain is not really awful, but very awkward and discomforting, with a hard bloated feeling. I get these pains alot after I eat food. I expereince constipation every day- excercise helps me reduce this, but bloating and discomfort is quite a standard daily feeling for me.

I have never been able to lie on my left hand side, probably since I was 13/14 years old. If I lie on this side for more than 5-10 minutes, then a sharp pain appears all over my stomach, with a feeling as though my intestine and stomach are twisting over to the left, almost twisted on eachother, I then have to retrack my movement, lying flat, then back on my right side. I feel I may be allergic to foods. I often have pains after eating bread or pizzas, or pasta, but not always, and it is not a definiate after ive eaten wheat products that I get this, it can be random. Please help me realise what I have?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my surgical experience, this is a chronic issue of intestine motility disturbances, altered gut flora mechanics, digestive enzyme malfunctions for various reasons.

A detailed case work-up with an ultrasound examination, upper GI endoscopy with colonoscopy will definitely reveal the underlying facts.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
