What Causes Bleeding In The Gums Of A 2 Year Old?

i was brushing my 2 year old sons teeth last night & his top gums started bleeding enough to cover his tongue. Now he does have a tooth coming in on top but the bleeding seemed to be coming from his front teeth, not the 1 coming in & his gum did look a little swollen. He also has been crying only when i brush his top teeth for a couple weeks but only yesterday did it bleed pretty good.

Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic.

By what you quote I put forth these possibilities.

1. Bad oral hygiene - regular brushing with soft children brush at least once a day

2. Vitamin C deficiency - I suggest you t see a pediatrician for this as this might have changes in bones also.

3. Bleeding disorder and it again needs evaluation by a pediatrician or hematologist.

Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health.
