I had a pretty bad bacterial throat infection, and while sick I experienced moderate concentration of blood in my urine for about 24 hours. There was no pain or discomfort. I flushed my system with liquids and my urine has returned to normal. Should I be overly worried, or was this a result of bacterial infection or dehydration? I plan to have my urine checked for blood levels, but I feel that I should probably wait until I am completely better. Am I correct?
first i would like to tell you that one of the complicarions of bacterial throat infection is what is called glomerulonephritis or urinary tract infectiin ...simply you need to do urine culture for investigation as you have risk factor of bacterial infection .....if bacterial infection suspected treatment should begin with antibiotic treatment .........good behaviour to drink alot of fluids for flushing urinary system..........this case of glomerulonephritis or urinary tract infection may be self limited as your immune system declare infection from your body.......keep on drinking alot of fluids it will help alot......if symptoms ended that will be very good and if persist you need ultrasound scan and urine culture to detect any probability of renal small gravells or stones or existance of bacteria that affect urinary tract and cause blood in urine..........limit your sexual contact this period of time because you may get recurrent infection from sexual contact with infected person..........you need not to worry about that..........wish you healthy life
