What Causes Branching Veins On The Mouth?

I have 3 raised, branching veins in my mouth. Two on inside of lower mouth/lip and one on inside of upper inside mouth/lip. I have had them for about 4 months now without any noticeable pain. Could it be caused by an underlying condition or is this ok?

Hello,

I can understand your concern. As you might know, veins are present everywhere in the body and so inside the upper and lower lip. However, few people have thick walls of the veins and thin walls of the lip mucosa causing them to appear enlarged or bulky.

As you are not having any pain or discomfort with its presence, you do not need to worry about it. However, if you keep developing these appearances in mouth or if the area over it starts to ulcerate, then you should visit a dentist for consultation and physical examination of the oral cavity.
