What Causes Breathlessness And Chest Pain When Lying Down?
I felt breathless when i'm layed in bed on two occasions now. My chest has felt tighter and fuller when i'm resting also laying down as well as sitting. i'm 30 years old i have B12 deficiant pernicious animia and get heart palpitations on occasion also. I'm 5ft and have inceased in weight recently from 6st5lb to 7st4lb.
Thanks for your question on HCM. Since you are suffering from pernicious anemia I will suggest you to check Hb and vit B 12 level both. Low Hb can cause high pulse rate and feeling of palpitation. If low Hb is for long time it can damage heart and cause anaemic heart failure. It is having same symptoms of congestive heart failure like orthopneoa ( breathlessness in lying down) with chest pain and heaviness, pressure in chest. So get done your HB and vit B 12 and rule out andmia first. If your Hb is good than you should get done ecg and 2D Echo to rule out cardiac cause.
