What Causes Brown Spotting After Taking 'famvir' During Pregnancy?
hi,
I'm 7 weeks pregnant, i started taking famvir about 2 days ago, since then i have started spotting a brown blood, i have not had any cramps or pain as yet, i have been to a doctor and they have advised my hormone level has dropped, we have down an ultrasound and they saw the sack and yolk with no tears and rips, i have an other ultrasound in 10 days,
this there a possibility i could miscarriage or is this all caused by the famvir?

hi,famvir is a category b drug ie no proven risk in humans so the brown spot you have had cant be attributed to it.you are suffering from threatened abortion.you need to be on bed rest,no intercourse and no lifting weights.you should start taking tab susten 200 mg twice a day and inj proluton depot 500 mg once weekly which will provide hormonal support to the pregnancy.take care and all the best.
