What Causes Bruise After Using Insulin In The Stomach?

I am giving myself insulin injections, using the belly area. I have a lot of bruising today. I do change the area moving around the stomach to give myself shots. These needles do sting when going in. Am I doing something wrong?? I am new at this thanks
