Hello Vijay,
I appreciate your concern for your wife. Urinary infection is a problem many women with diabetes face, The best defence against it is a good control of diabetes. If she goes 8 to 10 times at night, it is likely that her blood sugars are not under control. Local hygiene especially to prevent contamination while washing after passing motion is very important.
She should have a urine routine examination with a mid stream clean catch urine and if that shows increased pus cells, a urine culture taking all precautions to avoid contamination.
If these basic management does not control the problem she should be seen by a urologist who will investigate her for any urological problem like stricture and others for the persistent /recurrent infection.
Wishing her all the best,
Dr. Noble Zachariah
