What Causes Burning Sensation In The Food Pipe?

Hi, Doctor. How are you? I want to ask you about some gastric problem. From last 3 days i feel like my burning in my food pipe and when i eat food i feel the food going inside my stomach it seems that their is some swelling in my food pipe. I have acidity problem from last many years. I consulted to a doctor he recommended me for endoscopy. Should i go for it? or it is someting else something like allegy? Please help me.
