What Causes Burning Sensation In The Stomach

ok. I have a burning sensation in my oesphagus/stomach area. This has occurred as a result of eating extremely hot mashed potato. It has been with me for approximately three days and I feel it day and night. I don t think it is a reflux as it has occurred before this incident. I was wondering if have done some sort of damage to my digestive tract?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is the acute gastritis phase.

Precise care steps to be followed for a better outcome:
- diet measures to avoid spices kinds of stuff
- PPI as omeprazole or pantoprazole
- antacid as Mylanta or else
- hydration care
- avoid any NSAID type medications like ibuprofen or else for pain relief as they can flare up the issue more.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
General Surgeon
