Hello
Welcome to HCM
I went through your history & would like to ask you few questions like:-
-since how long is this cavity present?
-do you feel any sensation to hot or cold in your teeth?
-do you feel pain in associated teeth?

Your history indicates that you are having dental caries. If you don't have any sensitivity & pain then it might be reversible pulpitis & can be cured by restoration. But if its deep then you might need root canal treatment. So better go for proper investigation before it progress further.
Causes of cavities can be:-
-improper oral hygiene
-more frequent intake of sugar
-taking more sticky sugar
Start taking proper care of your teeth & go for regular dental check up.

Take Care

Hello and thank you for your questions.

First cavities are caused by bacterial infections in your teeth. The bacteria produce acids that eat away at the outer surface of your teeth (enamel) and then spread to the inside of your teeth.

Cavities are prevented by:

-decreasing frequency of sugar intake, especially sticky, tacky snacks

-avoiding beverages high in caffeine, sugar and acids: coffee, energy drinks, fruit drinks, sports drinks

-following the 3-2-1 rule: brush 3 times a day, floss 2 times and gargle with Listerine 1 time daily

-do not sip on soda pops or fruit drinks, drink them and then switch to water, the longer you spend sipping on a soda the more exposure you have to acids that eat away at your teeth.

-go to the dentist annually and have a cleaning twice a year.

-if you have cavities get them fixed right away before they progress and become worse.

The hole in your tooth is called a cavity. The gums growing into the hole is called hyperplastic overgrowth. You are having an irritation in the area, the gums are swelling and growing due to this issue and filling in the void of your tooth.

If the cavity is in the top of the tooth, you may actually have hyperplastic pulp also known as a pulp polyp.

You need to have the cavity filled, possibly a root canal and crown, or an extraction of the tooth depending on how bad the hole is.

This is not necessarily dangerous, but could lead to more discomfort and a more severe infection down the road. Don't sit on this until it becomes painful, have it repaired and addressed as soon as you can.

Best wished and good health

Hello,
Thanks for posting your query,
Cavities occur as a result of tooth decay. Tooth decay is the destruction of the tooth structure.
Tooth decay occurs when foods containing carbohydrates such as breads, cereals, milk, soda, fruits, cakes, or candy are left on the teeth. Bacteria that live in the mouth digest these foods, turning them into acids.
prevention:-
-Brush your teeth at least twice a day and ideally after every meal, using fluoride-containing toothpaste
-Get professional tooth cleanings and regular oral exams, which can help prevent problems or spot them early.
-A sealant is a protective plastic coating that's applied to the chewing surface of back teeth — sealing off the grooves and crannies that tend to collect food in the teeth most likely to get cavities.
-Avoid foods that get stuck in grooves and pits of your teeth for long periods, such as chips, candy or cookies
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful

hi ,
thanks for asking the query,
tooth decay is destruction of tooth structure by bacteria that can affect both enamel (outer coating) and dentine. bacteria in the mouth digest the food and release acids , this clings to the tooth surface and create holes in teeth causing cavities.
this can be prevenrted by
maintaining good oral hygiene and brushing tooth twice daily
clean your teeth with dental floss ,interdental cleaners , mouthwashes
eat nutritious balanced diet
avoid sticky food brush tooth afterwards.
as your cavity is growing it may get infectious and painful ,you can check your dentist and get a filling done.

Hi, if there is a hole or cavity in a tooth for a long time, the gum starts filling the empty space. Please consult a dentist. The gum can be removed by cutting and use of H2O2. After the gum is removed from the tooth, root canal and capping can be done to treat the tooth completely. Take care!
